The AFU carried out over 700 attacks on the Bryansk region

At a meeting with the head of the border region, the President assessed the situation there and promised to help in the implementation of projects

The situation in Bryansk Region bordering Ukraine is under control and the population is not panicking. This was stated by the region's governor, Alexander Bogomaz, at a meeting with Vladimir Putin on February 13. The region is constantly attacked by the AFU: in January alone, there were more than 700 attacks. Vladimir Putin thanked the head of the subject for the attention to the soldiers of the AFU and their families.

The Bryansk region is regularly attacked: The AFU made over 700 attacks on the region in January, there are casualties among civilians, Alexander Bogomaz said. 1,876 houses were damaged, of which 144 were completely destroyed, the residents have already received more than 500 million rubles to compensate for the damage. Also, 70 social facilities and 149 objects of fuel and energy complex, housing and utilities, industry and agriculture were damaged. The head of the region added that Bryansk organizations allocate construction equipment and materials on a gratuitous basis. "The situation is not easy, but controlled. There is no panic among the population. Residents are doing everything to support our defenders," said Alexander Bogomaz.

At the same time, the region continues to develop: for ten years the regional budget revenues have grown from 46.9 billion rubles to 109.7 billion rubles. Own revenues have increased 2.8 times. The average salary - from 20 to 56 thousand rubles. There are successes in the social sphere as well. Housing commissioning in the region has increased one and a half times in five years. According to the governor, about 5.4 thousand kilometers of roads have been built and repaired in the region. Alexander Bogomaz also proposed to shift the construction of the road between Sovetsky and Fokinsky districts and to start this work a year earlier. Separately, he asked the President to help in the construction of a new infectious disease hospital worth 2.1 billion rubles. Vladimir Putin promised to send an instruction to the government to study the possibility of assistance in the implementation of projects for the development of the region.

Bryansk region suffers from a shortage of doctors: the region's leadership should pay attention to the situation and make the necessary efforts to solve this problem, said the President. Over the last five years the authorities have already attracted more than 500 young specialists to the healthcare institutions of the region, said Alexander Bogomaz. To solve the personnel problem, a branch of Sechenov University will be opened in the region, which will graduate about 200 doctors annually. "Here we need, of course, comprehensive measures: both provision of housing and other support measures," Vladimir Putin emphasized.

Over the three years of the special operation, the region has invested more than 1.6 billion rubles in the restoration of the sponsored Bryanka in the LNR. This year 653 million rubles has been allocated from the regional budget. The governor assured the President that the soldiers who returned from the special operation zone are provided with all the necessary assistance, including employment. Vladimir Putin thanked the head of the region for such attention. Alexander Bogomaz, whose term of office ends in September, expressed readiness to continue working in the post for a new term. "Your work is going steadily, rhythmically, many tasks that face the region are being solved. I wish you good luck," the head of state concluded.
