The Ministry of Education records an increase in the quality of education in the country: in 2024, 1 thousand more schoolchildren received 100 points at the USE than in 2020. This became known on February 3 at a meeting between Vladimir Putin and the head of the Ministry, Sergei Kravtsov. In addition, the popularity of secondary vocational education (SVE) among schoolchildren is growing in the Russian Federation, the authorities plan to bring the employment rate of college graduates from 80 to 85%.

What was discussed at the meeting

Last year, about 8.5 thousand students received 100-point results at the USE, which is 1 thousand more than in 2020, the minister said. At the meeting with the President, Sergei Kravtsov presented new history textbooks for grades 5-9 and colleges. Their cost is three times lower than commercial ones.

More than 1.3 thousand schools and about 1.6 thousand kindergartens were built from 2019 to 2024. More than 3.5 thousand schools have been put in order since 2022 under the overhaul program. The Ministry of Education is ready to implement new national projects: the project "Family" implies the construction of another 100 new kindergartens, will also launch a program of their overhaul. Until 2030, 2.3 thousand kindergartens will be repaired, said the Minister.

The competition to pedagogical universities in 2024 amounted to 10 people per place, this direction has become the second most popular after information technology, said Sergei Kravtsov. According to the Ministry's estimates, there is now a boom in secondary vocational education in Russia: students are increasingly choosing working specialties, said the head of the ministry. 80% of them get a job. "We will continue to work, and set the goal that 85% of the guys after graduating from college were employed in production," he said.

The Minister mentioned the active development of the project "Without Statute of Limitations", which is designed to preserve the historical memory of the victims of Nazi war crimes. "Excavations are still going on: new documents, facts - we talk about it to schoolchildren and we will continue to support this project," - said Sergei Kravtsov. Vladimir Putin pointed out the colossal scale of crimes committed by the Nazis during the Great Patriotic War.
